Purple Iris PIY Kit – Free Tutorial

Iris PIY Kit
Is it still Spring where you live? Here in Northern California it feels like it’s just starting – and it’s almost June!
I probably should be working on Fall & Christmas PIY kits, but I’m trying to enjoy some bloomin’ flowers.
If you’ve never painted before or you’re one of those “I can’t even draw a stick figure,” these PIY kits are for you. Really. I promise.
It’s as simple as coloring a coloring book – only you do it with paint and a couple of brushes.
Iris PIY Kit
You can download the full tutorial here.
What makes it so simple? You don’t have to know how to paint. Or shade. Or draw. Just follow each step in each picture.
Why? Because we use craft acrylic paints and a layering technique. You paint the base color. Then apply highlights & shading. Then paint the basecolor again. The highlights & shading will still show thru the topcoat, but will hide any imperfections. That’s why you don’t even need to know how to blend strokes.
In the tutorial I’ve given you the paint colors I used and the size of brushes. You don’t have to use them though. You can use different brushes if you want. Or different colors. As long as you have a medium color, a light color and a darker color, it’ll work.
Try it! And let me know how you do. I’ve got a lot more coming. If you want to paint something in particular, let me know and I’ll try and make a tutorial for you.
I’m linking up to these weekend parties -
