Fab Finds for the Fourth of July

Last year ‘round this time, I was lolly-gagging along, focusing only this blog, and hosted my first linky party for the 4th of July.

Times have changed, friends.

Right now I’m knee-deep in the middle of painting a mural, prepping to teach a blogging class on Weds., and a feng shui class on Saturday. That’s in between teaching step aerobics and dance.

Somebody shoot me.

Nah. Just kiddin’. I love everything I’m doing, but I just don’t have time to host a linky party right now.

But I can show you some awesome patriotic paint projects from last year. ‘Cause guess what? July 4 is about 3 weeks away!

And doesn’t everyone think ‘paint projects’ for 4th of July? No? Hmmm, must just be me then.

But just in case I’m not alone, that ‘waving’ flag tutorial above is painted with just red, white & blue – 3 colors, folks! Very, very simple.

Okay. So maybe you don’t see yourself painting a waving flag in the next 3 weeks. How about painting a serving tray?

I painted the heart and stars on canvas so it’s removable.

That way you can change it out for different holidays and seasons. And if you don’t feel like painting, just modpodge some decorative paper onto canvas. That’ll work too!

Or you can take a plain ol’ wine goblet, drop a tea light in it, wrap a little shade around it, and have an awfully cute candle decoration.

I painted the goblet red, but you could leave it clear and tie some ribbon around the stem too.

There ya go. Just a few painting ideas for the 4th.

What do you do to decorate for our country’s birthday? If you’d like to share them, I’d love to feature you!
