Painting More Practice Fairies

fairy-painting-10

I had planned on painting sample fairies all day today. That is, until I realized my Blogging Basics class is Wednesday and I haven’t written the workbook yet. Or planned the class outline.

I painted two fairies before I called it quits. I’ll try and squeeze in some more practice in the next 2 days. Somehow.

And just because you’ve all been so supportive of my practice attempts, I wanted to share some of my previous figurative paintings.

Okay, so their eyes aren’t open in this painting.

Hmmm, maybe I can position all the fairies so they’re looking downward.

Yes, this little angel’s eyes are open. But this painting was 11” x 14”. A little different than painting a 6” tall fairy.

Well, I can’t very well put a football helmet on the fairies like I did on this portrait of my nephew.

But it’d certainly solve the hair issue.

Have you noticed anything about all of my ‘people’ paintings?

Yep, there all african-american. That’s ‘cause they were all gifts for Hubs’ family.

I could probably paint black fairies really easily, but somehow I don’t think my clients would fully appreciate that.

So I’ll keep practicing.

I’ve got a ways to go yet. But they’re coming.

Slowly.
