Born and raised in Placerville, California, Colleen spent hours as a child sketching and painting. After taking an art class in college, she quit painting as the instructor didn't like how Colleen wanted her images to look "real." It wasn't until she cultivated her interest in home decorating that she began painting her realistic art on walls and canvases.
Working as a display and floral designer in a craft store for many years, Colleen discovered her love of decorating and teaching others. Her students' success and joy in creating beautiful art has led her to develop a paint-it-yourself mural line so more people can feel the accomplishment of painting beautiful art.
As Colleen learned more about decorating she was introduced into feng shui. But she wasn't happy with using only traditional Chinese elements in decor. As she taught classes and consulted in people's homes, she developed her own method of transforming interiors to suit the client's individual tastes and style.
Through her years of creating art for homes and decorating with feng shui, Colleen has learned that our homes are our havens, our sacred spaces. Her work is now centered around helping others create their own sacred space, whatever that means to them.
Colleen lives with her husband near Sacramento, close to her 3 grown stepsons, her beautiful 3 year old grandson and her 95 lb. bull mastiff.
