Passion for Paint . . . and a BIG surprise!

Welcome to Passion for Paint! I’m glad to see some of you are still painting during the holiday season.

I’m actually painting Spring PIY (paint-it-yourself) kits now. I’d really rather be working on Christmas, but by the time I paint, take step-by-step pictures and write instructions, we’ll be into the New Year!

The party runs for the whole weekend, so I hope you’ll check back to see all the projects, and maybe even drop by a couple and tell them you saw them here.

As always, please link the actual URL of your project, not just your blog.

And I’d love for you to become a follower of Mural Maker & More – either the blog, or on Facebook . . . or both! That way you’ll know what’s happening here.

Which leads me to the Surprise.

Ssshhh. It’s a secret, too.

I mean, what good is a surprise unless it’s a secret? Doesn’t that make it a surprise? Hmm . . .

Okay, Colleen, what the heck are you talking about?

Here’s the deal – this morning I got a phone call from an artist friend who’s worked on six episodes of Yard Crashers for DIYnetwork.

Right here in l’il ol’ Sacramento! Who knew?

Well, I didn’t know because I don’t get DIYnetwork.

Okay, okay . . . the Surprise. They’re filming the 2011 Christmas special next week for Yard Crashers. But it’s not airing on DIYnetwork.

It’s going to be on HGTV!

That’s right, folks. Home & Garden TELEVISION!!!

And she needs me to help paint something or other. Right now, I have no idea what I’m painting, or where. I only know when.

Then, apparently, I’ll be sworn to secrecy on the final outcome, or something or other.

But who cares?

I’m gonna be on HGTV!!!

I can hardly sit still I’m so excited! It’s a dream-come-true. It might lead to more episodes. Hey, it might even . . .

Hold on a minute . . .

What am I gonna wear? I need my hair done. I need to lose 10, no 15, pounds in less than a week.

Hey, do those Spanx panties really make you look smaller?  ‘Cause you know darn good and well the cameras will probably be shooting my backside.

Oh, Lord, help me.

It’s a 2-day shoot. Outdoors. Let’s hope it doesn’t rain. Of course, if it does, then I won’t have to worry about my hair.

And I don’t need to worry about my nails because my hands will probably be covered in paint.

Okay. Breathe. I can do this.

I think.

Pray for me.

In the meantime, let’s see what you got this week!

Then let me know if you’ve ever worn Spanx.

  3. That is so exciting. Good luck and remember us little people after you go famous on HGTV. ;-)

I didn't paint anything this week. Actually I started a painting but it isn't anywhere near presentable yet. I'm linking a few decorating ideas though. It you don't like them you can take them off. No worries.

I'm presently not working on any projects, but am getting lots of inspiration from blogs like yours to start the new year off by changing things around here :-)

  6. Congratulations, Colleen! How exciting! And I'm looking forward to your spring tutorials. I confess I haven't had much time to paint lately, but I always feel like reading your tutorials is educational in such a practical way! It's actually a combination of a bunch of your techniques that I used for the Happily Ever After painting I posted here a few weeks ago. And I've never done a linky post before!

  7. Ooooh! I LOVE HGTV!

And, yes, Spanx do work miracles! Get some! I recommend the capri length. They'll make you firm and smooth all the way down past your knees.

  8. Congrats on getting chosen! That's so exciting!

Spanx or any similar brand are a miracle. Go try a few different ones on in the store under your clothes and see how you like it. They can be a pain to wear for a long day, but if you feel better, it's worth it!
