Yesterday, a Facebook friend asked me if I had any tips for painting stripes on walls.
Me? Personally? Here’s my tip - run in the opposite direction. Fast.
Just kidding. {not really} I found some great tips and tutorials, but I prefer to “blog-gle” info (search blogs rather than websites). Bloggers tend to give more details, their personal experience, and what the potential hazards are, if any.
Jackie @ IDesign painted these stripes for her brother. Nice sister! She made it sound very, very simple.
Maybe it is, but I wanted to do some more digging.
The editors over at The Nest gave great instructions on painting stripes. And I kinda like this one, solitary, vertical stripe. Makes quite a statement, don’t you think?
This post isn’t about stripes per se, but it is about painting perfect lines – a necessity if you are painting stripes. Especially on knockdown texture.
If you just want to paint a room with two different colors, Allison at House of Hepworths breaks it all down and has wonderful pictures.
I like lots of pictures.
Finally, I came across this great post from Kate at Centsational Girl. I really should’ve known to check her first! She has the best DIY projects!
Here’s what I love about her post – she asked her readers for their tips and she wrote all of them here. It’s like having a roomful of friends offering advice!
And if that isn’t enough, at the end of the post she has a list of even more tutorials from DIY websites.
If you have some tips for painting stripes – or painting walls in general, please let me know. I love sharing ‘tried and true’ information!
