In like a lion . . .
. . . out like a lamb.
The old adage certainly was fitting for me this year. But, thru all the personal drama, or maybe because of it, I seemed to write a lot about flowers.
We started with a series that chronicled my inexperience as a florist, a funeral, and some very, um, interesting circumstances surrounding both.
Reliving memory lane helped me to really appreciate what I do now and I had such fun sharing the Anatomy of a Mural with you.
By the way, I start the actual mural Saturday! I’m always filled with mixed emotions on a new job – excitement and a little anxiety. But then, it’s the anxiety that kind of leads to excitement, isn’t it?
All I know is, once I actually start painting the mural, it’s like a huge exhale, or meditation, or sometimes even Nirvana.
Which is why I spend so much time creating painting tutorials – I want other people to experience the same joy I do when painting.
The first painting tutorial was Red Geraniums – one of my all-time fav flowers. It’s a super simple way to paint geraniums. Really!
I also did a hyacinth painting tutorial on one of those days that it was half raining, half snowing. Just simply painting spring flowers helped to lift my spirits!
Since I’m painting a lot of spring flowers (and I hope you are too) I thought we needed something to put them in. This tutorial on painting a clay pot uses only 3 paint colors!
But here’s the kicker – the clay pot tutorial was the most visited page all month! That’s per Google Analytics. If you haven’t used Google Analytics, I highly recommend it so you’ll know all sorts of valuable info about your blog.
At first I thought, Wow! People are diggin’ my clay pot! Then I found out Amy @ Paint Me Plaid wrote a little feature on it.
How cool is that?!? Thanks again, Amy!
And while I’m doling out the link love, I want to thank the Top Ten referring sites in March -
You guys rock!
