I started this post last night and stopped short when I found out So You Think You Can Dance was on. I can’t miss a minute of that show!
I’m so glad I waited because I was greeted with the best bloggin’ surprise this morning . . . . I’m being featured today over at Today’s Creative Blog!
Oh. Em. Gee! Today’s Creative Blog! This is exciting for a few reasons – first, I adore Kim’s blog. She features a different creative site every.single.day. It’s awesome. Second, Kim has become a great friend. She was there for me when I was ready to give up this whole bloggin’ thing, and she kept me pluggin’ along. And third, she’s a kindred spirit – she used to teach dance (!!!) and now teaches aerobics. We have a lot in common and I can’t wait to meet a fellow west-coast-blogger-exdancer-now-aerobics-teacher IRL {in real life}.
I hope you’ll take a minute and leave a comment over at TCB on my feature. Pretty please???
Thanks! Now, on to the month in review . . .
It’s June, folks. June! You know . . . summer? Are you serious? What happened to May?
Thank goodness I blog or I seriously wouldn’t know what I do each day. And May was packed full each day.
So packed that I only painted a few tutorials.
We painted a hydrangea in not one, but three different ways. Have you tried it yet?
Then I tried to paint Queen Anne’s Lace. This turned out to be a ‘blog within a blog’. I wrote the step-by-step instructions on each photo and rambled along in the main post. Confusing? Yes, but that’s the way my mind thinks. {aack!}
Speaking of weird and confusing blog posts, I tried an actual online journal post while I worked on this sample for a baby girl’s nursery. I haven’t started on the actual mural, but I’m so excited because I’ve already painted a mural for her big brother. . .
After painting murals for 15 years now, I can honestly say that this is my favorite mural. I wish you could see it in person. It’s much softer. Almost dreamy. It’s gonna be hard to top this mural in the room across the hall – but I’m gonna try.
I also painted a dinosaur and kitty mural for a shared sisters’ room. What can I say? One sister loves dinosaurs and the other loves kitties. That’s the beauty of painting custom art – you can create whatever you want!
I also started teaching classes [again]. Painting and dance! It’s been 8 years since I taught painting, but it’s been 20 years since I taught dance! Twenty!!!
As one of my facebook friends coined – My spirit is soaring and my feet are sore-ing!
Whew! That was May and June is shaping up to be busier. Murals, classes . . . and I’m working on some fun summer tutorials.
Are you working on any fun paint projects?
