Has it hit you yet? The urge to make some Fall crafts? For some people it’s hard to think about it until the weather changes. Those are the same people that think it’s shocking to see Halloween merchandise in stores “so early”.
Then there’s the rest of us – crafters, artsy types, DIYers, bloggers. We start on seasonal projects way before the season hits, right? One look at session on Pinterest and you’ll know a lot of us have started Fall crafting.
I’ve got some cute and easy Fall crafting projects for you today that I found on {shock} Pinterest. It’s my newfound pastime when football games are on. Don’t get me wrong, I love football. I just pin during the commercials.
Hey! It cuts down on the snacking!
I love this Newspaper Leaf Garland I found at Dollar Store Crafts. All you need are some crayons, newspapers, twine, and leaves, of course. I haven’t jumped on the garland bandwagon yet, and this might just get me on board.
Have you seen some of the cute ‘book page’ crafts out there? Myra at My Blessed Life made one of my favs – a Fall Canvas with old book pages and some scrapbook paper.
And you don’t even need a Cricut or Silhouette cutter. Myra gives you all the tips in her easy-to-follow tutorial.
When I found this fabulous Fall Leaf Canvas by Centsational Girl I fell in love. Kate pressed some leaves, decoupaged them onto canvas with silvery Mod Podge (who knew?) and then added some metallic tones. Absolutely stunning. You can read her full tutorial here.
Whelp, I didn’t have any silver Mod Podge or any fall leaves, so I grabbed some ‘silk’ leaves and made my own ‘knock-off’. Sort of.
Okay, it’s not at all like Centsational Girl’s. But I was inspired by her and made two canvas insets for some serving trays – one with silk leaves and one with painted leaves.
I wrote about it over at Type A Decorating today. Drop by and let me know which one you like better – no, not between Kate’s or mine – between the faux leaves or the painted ones.
