Happy Halloween! And happy, happy, happy last day of my 31 Days of Easy Holiday Paint Projects! Even though I didn’t make it for the entire 31 days .
It was still an incredible experience, blogging daily for a month. However, I did learn to have some extra posts ready to go in case Life is interrupted. I learned a lot of other things too which I’ll write about at a later date.
I’m still getting my ‘sea legs’ back and haven’t had the strength to paint so I wanted to share a couple of paint tutorials for red cardinals. Before the nasty Flu Bug paid me a visit I was working on a Pottery Barn knock off. . .
. . . a simple branch with birdies.
Of course, the PB birdies don’t have too much detail, so I’m taking a little artistic license and adding my own. {shock}
Before I give you the whole PB knockoff pattern, you can practice painting a red cardinal with detail.
It’s really a lot easier than it looks (promise!) but if it seems a little too daunting, I have a simple red cardinal too.
Still cute – and no shading or topcoating.
Well, I’m off to Lysol a few more areas! I hope you have a fun, and safe, Halloween with all your little ghosts and goblins.
And to all of you who hung out with me for
update: below is the printable for the red Cardinals I used in the painting. Feel free to use it as you wish, but I would appreciate a link back to Mural Maker and More. Thank you!
