Climbing Out of The Comparison Hole

The first 3 weeks of February didn’t start off too well for me, which is why I haven’t posted more.

1. I fell into a deep, dark hole because I was comparing my blog to other blogs.
2. My blog isn’t like anyone else’s blog and I thought that made it ‘not good enough’.
3. I allowed Comparison to steal my blogging joy temporarily.
4. I didn’t realize it was temporary at the time.
5. I couldn’t remember why I started blogging in the first place. When I remembered why I started blogging in the first place, I realized it wasn’t why I still blog.
6. I’m tired of Mural Maker & More. Or, at least the way it looks.
7. I think I’ll do a complete blog overhaul and change the entire look.
8. Maybe I’ll change my blog’s name to something related to decorating so I can write about broader topics.
9. But I already write about Infertility, Google+, Echo Lake, and anything else that pops into my pea brain.
10. I’m tired of Mural Maker & More. Or, at least the name.
11. Mural Maker & More sounds like all I write about is murals.
12. I rarely write about murals.
13. I was without pain meds for my back for nearly a week, making it hard to sit for longer than 15 minutes and virtually impossible to write about anything. Even murals.
14. I thought I’d call my blog something clever like DecorAids which was vetoed because of the whole ‘aids’ thing.
15. I got a fabulous, speedy new computer but I didn’t feel like blogging because I don’t have the numbers of all my bloggy friends and I was considering changing my blog name to DecorAde -turning design dilemmas into something sweet. (Di-lemma/d’lemon).
16. My depression got worse.
17. I saw the doc today and the pain and burning in my back and leg is slowly becoming manageable again.
18. I started a painting today with zebra stripes, damask flourishes and Christian Louboutin shoes.
19. I’m serious.
20. I’m working on a painting tutorial for zebra stripes.
21. Writing painting tutorials is one my favorite things about blogging.
22. I hate making video tutorials though. But I will keep making those too ‘cause it’s just easier to learn painting with videos.
23. I really, really like to write about decorating.
24. Maybe I’ll write about decorating and painting.
25. Every DIY decorating project needs some paint, in my opinion.
26. I think I’ll call my blog Just Shut Up and Paint!
27. Kidding! I joke!
28. Just Paint It! will be my blog’s new name when I get all the design elements ready to go.
29. Just Paint It! makes me smile and it ‘feels’ right and, right now, I don’t care what any other blog stats are because my blog isn’t like any other blog.
30. I like that.
