May Paint Class Schedule

May Paint Class Schedule

Alrighty, my friends. I’m getting serious about teaching painting now and I’ve put together an entire schedule for May.

I’m very excited about this.

All of these classes are live via Google+ hangouts. That means we paint together in real time. So.much.fun. If you haven’t painted in years, or ever (!), no worries. I chose all of these designs for beginning painters.

Something else I wanted to mention – there are two classes each week. Saturday classes are at 9:30 a.m. PST. The Wednesday classes will alternate between mornings and evenings. I’m hoping this schedule will work better for people in the south and east. If not, I’ll videotape the classes and they’ll be available to watch at your convenience. (But it’s not as much fun as classes are!)

Here’s how these classes work:

  • Click here to sign up for one or more classes.
  • I’ll send you a registration via Paypal.
  • Once you’ve registered, I’ll send you a Class Supply List with pattern to transfer and Google+ Hangout instructions.
  • Prior to class, we’ll do a ‘synch up’ to make sure everything works – your microphone, audio, etc.
  • Then, we paint!

That’s it! Easy-peasy and oh-so much fun!

Here are a couple more considerations:

  • Class limit is 9 people because of G+ so every class is first come, first served.
  • You can choose to paint on canvas or watercolor paper. Both work well. Watercolor paper is cheaper if you’ll be painting quite a bit. But either is fine for class.
  • These classes are completely private and cannot be seen by anyone but those of us in class. If you’re worried about being on camera, don’t be. The majority of the time I’m in the main screen and students are in the “filmstrip”, a 2” square. If I need/want to see your painting, I’ll put you in the main screen. That’s all. Watch this hangout I did with Karen from The Graphics Fairy and you’ll see how small the film strip is.
  • What if you don’t have a webcam? If your computer doesn’t have a webcam installed you can get one for about $15. You could take the class without a webcam but I wouldn’t be able to see your painting and, therefore, wouldn’t be able to offer any help.
  • While I try to make recorded classes comprehensive, I feel the live classes are much better to learn. You can ask questions and you can learn from your fellow students as well. Plus, it’s just really fun.

What else? I think that’s it!

No, wait, one more thing. I’ll continue offering free painting demos on Tuesdays at 4 pm PST. Those hangouts will record to my YouTube channel but I keep those relatively short – less than 30 minutes.

Ok, that’s it! I hope you’ll join me for a class soon. If none of these dates work for you and you have friends who want to paint, grab a few of them and we can plan a date for a private class!

That goes for homeschooling too. I’m more than happy to do some homeschool painting classes.

Any other questions? Leave me a comment or shoot me an email. And I really truly hope that I’ll see you soon!

  1. Oh Colleen,

I am so glad you are doing this for beginners! I am in the midst of major trauma and moving so I don't know if I can do these classes, but if you keep doing them I will definitely join in, I am not very good, but I would love to try to learn. You know how much I love your work and admire your talent!

I hope things are getting better for you, you remain in my prayers.

    Hugs,
    Maureen
