Handpainted Wine Glasses

I’ve always said I’ll paint anything that’s not moving, and practically have. A few months ago an artist friend asked me if I’d paint ‘some’ goblets for a charity – Patron Arts of Folsom. The glasses were purchased at the Folsom Gourd & Arts Festival and proceeds were donated to an art scholarship fund – near and dear to my heart as I’m all about anyone painting (hence the name Mural Maker).

I barely managed 100 glasses; my friend painted over 200. They were so well received I decided to put them on Etsy, which I’m in the process of . . . once I figure out how.

Here are a few styles I painted.

Balloonsfor any birthday or celebration.

This whole wineglass ‘thing’ sparked some more creative ideas – I’m doing a line of Klings – stick-on images that can be removed for washing and replaced any time you want decoration.

Then, I’ve painted some little lampshades. You just put a tealight in the goblet, light it, and put on the shade. You have a mini lamp!

The Klings & lampshades will also be on Etsy.

If you have any ideas for more styles, email me and I’d be happy to add to the collection. I’d love to hear your ideas.

Thanks for looking!

  4. Wow, what a skill you got there, Colleen. This only proves that you can paint any design you can think of on glass. I wonder if my wife will let our daughter paint something on our recycled glass goblets. She's very protective of her mini collection, but she might change her mind if it's for art's sake. Best of luck to you!
