I always look forward to Saturday mornings because I love the SITS Saturday Sharefest. (They’re updating their site, so I can’t give you a link til later.) Anyway, I love reading new blogs, sharing and connecting with other bloggers on Saturdays. It’s my day to really enjoy blogging. Then I noticed I hadn’t blogged since a week ago Monday! Aack!
This gave me pause to really appreciate all my blogging sistas who consistently post each and every day, with interesting stories, pics and tutorials. How do you do it! I’m in utter awe. Particularly, this week.
I came down with a miserable cold, nothing major, just the yukky nasal junk. But it was enough to knock me off my feet for a couple of days. Then, wouldn’t you know it, I get a call from an artist friend who needed help painting stage sets for a major Christmas production. I also get a call from a cousin who was doing a fashion show (last night) and wanted me to showcase my work. Plus, being it’s now November, my Christmas decorating clients are starting to call. Whew! When it rains, it pours.
While I am always grateful for new work, between the cold, traveling back and forth to my mom’s, the grandbaby, and just life, my blog was stagnant. So this morning I wondered, “How does everyone else do it?”
When I started this blog I had every intention of sharing easy painting tips, simple decorating advice, and some basic feng shui stuff. Well, painting tips requires actually painting something, taking pictures, etc. Just a matter of time. As is the case with decorating and feng shui.
I still hold these same goals. I don’t know how to add more time into my life. So for now, I just enjoy reading my fav blogs, wholly admiring these women who are so diligent about posting, and am happy that my cold is almost gone.
Happy Saturday, everyone!

Hi, I just signed up with chic-chick and have been browsing the blogs. Love your artwork, it amazes me how some people can create such beautiful stuff and others of us....well, you know :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I would love to see your work, it sounds like you have your hands full. I look forward to learning some tips when you have time. I've always wanted to try.
ReplyDeleteBobbi, thanks for visiting from chic-chick. I need to browse more. Have you ever tried painting? Anything?
ReplyDeleteKaren, if you click on my website - above right corner - all of my artwork is there. I truly am working on DIY kits. And I'm definitely looking for 'testers', if you'd be interested.
ReplyDeleteI am in ... for a tester that is! I would love to understand how to paint ... like if i just picked up a pre-streched canvas from Hobby Lobby what else would I need?
ReplyDeleteBTW - thanks for stopping by today! :)
Ooooh, Jess. Are you serious? Okay, lessee. You'll need brushes & paints. I don't have a HobLob, but figure it's like Michael's. yeah, just went on their site. Acrylic paints (craft, not artist, to start with) Decent brush sets. I like Donna Dewberry's. I use mostly flats (the square brushes), but anything will do.
ReplyDeleteNow, what do you wanna paint? I'm working on a fruit tutorial for Centsational Girl which will go on a table runner. You want to start with that? Pears, pomegranates, grapes. Painted on watercolor paper, then print on transfer paper and iron on to fabric. Interested?
Great blog!
