Well, I did get one project done. It was meant to be a tutorial, but you’ll have to wait now ‘til my Christmas shades. You take a wine glass, add a tealight, paint watercolor paper in the shape of a lampshade.
I have been scouring the internet over the past few months as I had such high hopes to decorate. I want to share my favs with you – most of which can be done quickly and easily and just require a little paint. What a surprise.
My absolute two top favorites come from fellow bloggers. In fact, their entire blogs are chock-full of great decor ideas.
This cute black kitty comes from Kate @ CensationalGirl.com. Check out her black spider web. Ingenious.
For some glitz, Sara @ ThriftyDecorChick has some wonderful metallic pumpkins. And she used spray paint, okay? Easy! But she didn’t stop there. She has all kinds of great ideas. Check her out!
Better Homes & Gardens always has tons of great projects.
BHG Painted pumpkin
BHG Witch-ee Shoes
Glitter Pumpkin – they simply used a glitter pen, faux jewels and glue.
Pumpkin Greeters
Don’t want to wear a costume this year? How ‘bout dressing up a trio of pumpkins? How cute is that?
Martha's Pumpkin Characters
Martha’s version on pumpkin witch and kitty. She always has the best tutorials, imho, and great free patterns.
Pumpkin Decorations
DIY magazine also has wonderful quick ideas with plenty of free pattern downloads.
Not into Halloween? Gather some gourds, berries or twigs, add a special greeting on the pumpkins, and create your own signature vignette.
Easy Outdoor Decorations
I couldn’t resist these guys. Martha’s used them in the house as well, but I love the garage idea.
Lampshade Ideas
They use acetate, but I’ve done the same treatment with simple black construction paper.
Bottle Jack O’ Lanterns
You know those jars and bottles you’ve been saving for . . . what are you saving them for? Head on over to Emily’s blog at NotSoIdleHands for a great tutorial.
And for just all around cute things, check out OnePrettyThing. She posts daily wonderful crafts from around the ‘net.
So, if you’re like me and October just flew by, hope some of these ideas will inspire you.

Love your wine glass tea light idea! We don't really celebrate Halloween much here in AUstralia but I could imagine these done up for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with what people are doing with pumpkins these days. Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year and I love the people are getting so creative.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
Brandi, we finally got around to carving our pumpkins yesterday - not too creative but made grandbaby happy. I truly intended on doing some of the painting techniques and just ran out of time. Now I'm full into Christmas projects. Oh well. Thanks for visiting.

what do you like to do? I'm doing wreaths tomorrow for a booth I rented (used to be a florist) and am painting tea light shades and wine glasses. I'd love to post a lot of tutorials, so let me know what you like to do!
