Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we did a trial run with our grandson to a pumpkin patch. At 2 years old many Halloween icons still frighten him. We took a quick (45 minute) trip to a patch right down the street to see how he’d do.

He loved the Petting Zoo – only a few animals, so he wasn’t overwhelmed.

He wasn’t going to actually touch the llama, but at least he got close. Last year at the Fair, no way!

He really didn’t “get” this idea, but just tagged along with Gramma anyway.

He was so excited when he saw the Jumpy House, but no way was he getting inside. He just laid there and watched the other kids.

The swing was a big hit, as long as his Poppy was close by.

They had a cute little area for photos.

  2. Thanks, Beverly. The one of us in front of the old truck is now my screensaver and it makes me smile every time I see it. Just like he's now old enough to talk on the phone and left me a message on my cell. If I'm ever down, I just listen to his sweet voice "hello Gramma. I love you!" Makes my day every time!

Your grandson is soooo ADORABLE! Oh my gosh, he's too cute. It looks like you had so much fun!

By the way...did you paint the mural at your header? That is way cool! I'll be checking back for tips :)

  6. How cute!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog!! I wish I could paint. I saw that a local store was advertising painting classes and seriously thought about it! How did you get started?

  7. GG, I was intending to give Halloween wine glasses away - and it's this Saturday! :0 So, I'm already on to Christmas. I'll be sure and let you know.
Yes, I painted my header in a client's house. It was actually painted on canvas in my studio and we installed it w/wallpaper paste in their home.

  8. Jess, I'm completely self-taught. The thing about paint is it's fool-proof. If you don't like it, just paint over it! I sketched a lot as a child, took one class in college and quit art for years. Then picked it back up on a fluke 12 years ago.
If you find a class you like, go for it. It's my intention to offer lots of projects and videos for people who want to paint but have no exp. I hope you find some things you want to try. Let me know who you're doing. It's so relaxing - in fact, it's my meditation.
