Now, normally I would be thrilled to win any award. Really, I would. But coming from this writer/artist/baker extraordinare is a complete honor. You just simply have to go and read her blog.
I follow tons of blogs. It’s become my favorite hobby. I have a handful that I subscribe to by email because I love the content – mostly design & art blogs. But hers? No, I check in with her daily because I know she will make me laugh – out loud. I’m serious. She is hysterical. And the best part is, I don’t think she tries to be. It’s just who she is. It comes across thoroughly in her writing.
She’s one of those people where I might actually have to get on a plane and fly to wherever she lives one day just to meet her in person. For now, I’m happy to just chat with her via email. We don’t chat, actually. We have long (really long) diatribes back & forth.
She’s the one person that when I see an email from her, I drop everything to read her message. Just because I know she’ll cheer me up if I’m down, inspire me if I’m feeling flat, and always, always, make me laugh. Out loud.
Ok. On to the business at hand.
Five things about me.
- I love sports. All sports. Well, except for car racing & ice hockey (except in the Olympics).
- I once had 8 cats – all at one time. It was my roommate’s fault, but that’s another story. Now I just have one dog. No cats and I miss them.
- I’m shy in person, but I love the spotlight. Huh? Yeah, it’s one of those things. Put me in a room full of people and I clam up. Put a spotlight on me & give me a mike, and I’m completely, utterly at home. Could never figure that one out.
- I’m a TV addict. It’s always on. I can always find something to watch – sports, HGTV, Foodnetwork are my favs. Soaps? Not so much, but I usually know what’s going on because Hubs watches all of them.
- And last, on a serious note, it’s my greatest disappointment in life that I couldn’t have my own children. I’m thrilled that I got to raise 3 wonderful boys/now men. But it’s still hard for me to even hold a new baby. I just never got over it. Never will.
First, Regi over at Southern Ooaks. She sculpts the most incredible little beings. Each one has their own little story, I’m just sure. And Regi is one of the sweetest commenters on earth. She always makes my day.
Then there’s Jai @ 365 Days on Dixie Lane. You simply have to go check her artwork out. Her animals are insanely cute.
Another fav of mine is Beckie @ Infarrantly Creative. She has incredible ideas – good ones. But best of all, she’s real.
The last thing Jess @ Frugal with a Flourish probably needs right now is this award because she just moved, but she gets it anyway. She comes up with sensational inspiration boards & I always love ‘shopping’ on her blog.
Last, but certainly not least, is Kim @ Today’s Creative Blog. She hosts my fav linky party and is incredibly gracious about showcasing blogs. Not only that, she’s a dancer, or used to be. And any hoofer is a friend of mine.
I think that does it! I’m off to TweetDeck for an hour or so.
Colleen
