Sunday Appreciation – Seek Joy!

Welcome to Sunday Appreciation! I like to write posts on Sundays that cause me to stop & smell the roses & appreciate special parts of my life. It’s my hope that you will do the same today.

Actually, I start every morning with Appreciation. Usually I journal and/or do a Focus Wheel, or two. It always feels good to start my day with focused, positive thought.

Yesterday I came across this list & thought I’d share it with you. I got it here, if you’d like more on deliberate creating.

  • Seek Joy – first & foremost
  • Seek reasons to laugh
  • Seek reasons to offer words of praise – to self and others
  • Seek beauty in nature, beasts, and other humans
  • Seek reasons to love. In other words – in every segment of every day – look for something that brings forth within you a feeling of love
  • Seek that which uplifts you
  • Seek opportunity to offer that which uplifts another
  • Seek a feeling of well-being
  • Know that your value can only be measured in terms of joy
  • Acknowledge your absolute freedom to do any of these things or to not do any of these things – for it is, without exception, your choice in every moment of every day.

Here’s my ‘take’ on positive thinking – whether or not you believe that you get what you think about (which I do believe), it always feels better to think about things that please you. Rather than worrying, or looking at everything that needs to get done. If I look at things that make me feel good, and appreciate & feel gratitude, I always feel better in the moment. And the moment after that, and after that . . . and Life is just a long string of moments, isn’t it?

What about you? What do you do each day to feel positive? If we all share, maybe we can help each other!
