My Craft Room–A Slice of Reality

Craft Room Update!!! My work area no longer looks like these pics. Yay! You can see how I organized it on Maximizing Storage Space.

This is going to be a great week for organizing tips! And let me tell ya, I can sure use them. How about you?

I dunno about you but when someone hands out advice, I like to know that they actually practice what they preach. I don’t take organizing advice from my family members, believe me. But bloggers? Sure, as long as they show before pics and some tips along the way.

Consider this post my “Before”. No, there is no “After”. Yet. But soon!

I snapped this pic on a Monday. Hubs brought in an extra work table for me (which means a whole new surface to junk up!) and I hadn’t packed unfinished holiday projects yet.

Quite the mess, isn’t it? Lucy, you got some splainin’ to do!

Keep in mind this is also my bedroom at my mom’s house. (excuses, excuses) *ahem* The red labels are pretty self-explanatory.

Let me tally up what this room is used for for you:

  • mural/art business
  • crafting
  • video shoots
  • photo shoots
  • limited sewing projects (!)
  • office work
  • general stuff bedrooms are used for

It’s a big room, true, but then – I’m a busy gal with waaaay too many irons in the fire.

But check this out -

a glimpse of my Martha Stewart paints. Along with other junk, yes but the paints are nice and orderly and know exactly where every color is. And these aren’t my only paints . . .

Oh yeah. And this is just one drawer, hee hee.

So I actually can work (paint) at any given moment and know where everything is – brushes, canvas, paper, paints, sealers. I don’t even need a clean table – I just whip out my easel.

Deep deep down inside of me there’s an organizing fool, crying to be let out!

I know I’m not alone either. A while back one of my crafty blogger friends posted a random shot of her craft space on Facebook. Then someone else posted theirs. Before we knew it, we had quite the collection. Want to see some other crafty bloggers slice of reality?

This just may be the week I get my space totally organized, not just my paints. After all, it’s Clear Your Clutter week!!!
