When Life Gets Crazy

Aw, my friends, we’ve got some catching up to do. One day I was sitting here with nothing but time on my hands and creative ideas running through my mind and the next day I had to remind myself to breathe!

I marvel at other bloggers. I really do. Somehow they manage, day in and day out, to churn out projects, take photos and write blog posts, many with little ones in the house. How do they do it?

I have no idea. But I’m realizing more and more every day that I don’t have the energy I once had. Having a birthday recently didn’t help much.

I’ve crossed over into the Senior Menu at Denny’s. Yep. That birthday. It was also the first birthday in 21 years without Marlon. Not much of a celebration. And then 3 days later was the 6 month anniversary of his passing. (Anniversary? Not the best word, I’m afraid.)

Luckily, I’ve been so busy that depression didn’t have a chance to set in.

First off, I did a guest post and project at Infarrantly Creative for her Pennywise Present Series. That was super special for me as Beckie was my first ‘blog friend’ and has remained supportive and encouraging for over 3 years. That kicked off the busy “Homemade Thanksgiving” week on Google+ and YouTube.

While I only hosted one Hangout On Air, I attended some practice HOAs and was a guest at my BFF, Pretty Handy Girl. I should be pretty comfortable with videos by now, right? Um . . . notsomuch. I’m getting there though.

Watercolor Tee with Markers

I was barely catching my breath after that week when I had another guest project and post due at Sweet Rose Studio.

You know those people that work best on deadlines and under pressure? Yeah, me too.

The watercolor Tee with markers was so much fun I’ve scheduled my own Hangout to show you all how to do it. Yep, next Tuesday, November 20 at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST, I’ll show you how to create a watercolor effect with fabric markers – right here on the blog. Live! Super easy and fun.

Told you I’m getting used to videos.

Oh, but wait, there was another biggie thrown in there – last night I gave a webinar sponsored by HomeTalk. Live. An entire hour of nothing but me. And I wasn’t painting. Nope, I was talking about Google+.

Are you seeing a trend here? Yeah, lots and lots of Google+ stuff. And there’s more to come. Another week of live Hangouts for Christmas. (I’ll just host one.) And I’ll probably start writing and shooting more Google+ tutorials. I’ll post them here because . . . well, because this is my ‘home’. So if you’re not really that into another social network, I understand. But if and when you ever want to hop over to Google+, you’ll know where to go to ask questions.

In the midst of all of this stuff I get a phone call from an artist friend. Before I even listened to my voice mail I had an idea why she was calling . . . time to paint stage sets again.

It’s fun work but it’s crazy too. And physically challenging. But I’ll try to take pics to share.

As a matter of fact, if you want to keep up with all of this craziness, my Instagram is the best bet, which posts to my personal Facebook page. I mean, I always intend on writing a blog post.

But sometimes my pillow calls my name louder than the computer.
