Top Paint Projects of 2012

Top Ten 2012

It’s unbelievable that this year is nearly finished, isn’t it? Amazing. One lovely thing about blogging is the record that’s created.

When I wonder where the time goes, I only have to look at my blog posts to see where I spent a huge chunk of my life. Happily so, I might add.

These are the top 10 posts that received the most traffic. A few surprised me, actually.

#10 – Create Chalkboard from Mirror

Like this Memory Chalkboard I created from a cheapo mirror for my grandson. I’m happy to say Santino is still drawing on it and no sign of the original mirror peaking through.

faux-stone-platter-20

#9 – Faux Stone Platter

This Faux Stone Platter from the dollar store was another surprise. Who knew sponge painting a simple plastic platter could interest thousands of people?

#8 - Louboutin Black High Heels

Of course, I’m always happy when anyone likes my paint projects but especially my “babies”, paintings I’ve spent a lot of time creating, like the Louboutin black high heels I painted for my niece.

paint-lilacs-15-minutes-11

#7 – Dipdot Lilacs

Although, I gotta admit I’m thrilled that people enjoyed my “dipdot” lilac painting too, which take only a few minutes to paint.

faux-finish-eggs-13

#6 – “Faux” Alabaster Eggs

These Faux Alabaster Eggs looked more like foil-wrapped chocolate yet they still made the top ten. You just never know, I guess.

spraypaint-fall-pillow-8

#5 – Spraypaint Burlap Pillow

The 5th top paint project of the year involved spray paint, the dollar store, burlap and a pillow. Pretty hard to go wrong there.

Halloween-Decor-from-Dollar-Store

#4 – Halloween Décor from the Dollar Store

Another favorite was from the dollar store. Are you beginning to see a trend here?

modpodge-craft-space-24

#3 – Mod Podge Craft Organizing

While this post didn’t technically include paint, I did “paint” the Mod Podge onto old boxes. That counts, right?

faux-stain-glass-51

#2 – Easy Faux Stained Glass Window

One of my favorite things to do is to try out new products, like the glass stains for this faux stained glass window. I can’t wait to make something for spring with the stains.

And finally, the paint project that got the most hits of all in 2012 . . .

#1 Paint Flowers in 15 Minutes or Less

Ok, ok. I get it. People love the dollar store, spray paint, and projects that take less than 15 minutes.

I can do that.

Of course, in 2013 I’ll still share some stories along with more detailed paint projects. But, sure, I love a good 15 minute paint project too!

What did you paint in 2012? Any plans for 2013?

Drop by Southern Hospitality this week to see all kinds of 2012 post round ups. So much fun!
