There are still a few spaces in BYOB & Paint this Thursday. Click here if you’re interested in painting something fun & easy!
It seems like we are drawn to organizing every year after the holidays, doesn’t it? But here I sit, yearning for organized spaces and some visual relief from the piles of half-finished projects strewn hither and yon.
I decided I needed something to get me moving, some inspiration. I didn’t need to look far. Three of my friends have beautiful craft spaces so I thought I’d share.
My friend, Jessica, came up with a cute, yet functional, way to store her craft paints at Mad in Crafts. Be sure and click through to see the rest of her craft room. She has some brilliant storage ideas.
If you’re gonna organize, you might as well make it pretty right? Shannon @ MadiganMade took pretty to a whole new level when she transformed her basement. Oh, my . . . doesn’t it just make you want to create something? Go visit Shannon’s ombre craft room to see how she transformed it.
Maybe you prefer to be surrounded by neutrals and let your creations add pops of color to your space. Marianne’s craft room at Songbird is simply inspired. I live and breathe color, but I must confess I find this space to be soothing and serene. Take a peek at Songbird’s craft room to see the little pops of blue she introduced in other areas.
If you’re like me and haven’t started organizing, I have a little ‘method’ that might help you. I use it whenever I organize. It really works!
Especially if you’re a “visual” person like I am. I don’t like rifling thru drawers & cupboards; I want to just flip open a binder and find what I’m looking for. This really does work, as long as you stay up on it, put everything back in its place, and note any changes.
{ahem}
Methinks I need to update my binder.
This was how I organized my arts & craft supplies, last year. I took some shoe boxes, pretty scrapbook paper and Mod Podge and prettified my studio.
But things have changed. Life changed. Huh. Imagine that.
Yes, now I’m teaching painting classes, shooting videos and painting murals on canvas. More stuff. More need for storage. And organization.
sigh.
It’s a good thing though, right? More = moving forward. I’m trying to tell myself that when I see the piles of clutter.
How about you? Where do you create? Do you prefer the inspiration of color or the serenity of neutrals?
