Just Paint It: Snowman and Snowflake Paint Projects

Baby, it’s cold outside!

I can’t really complain because here in Northern California our temperatures would be considered warm to those of you in the south and east coast of the U.S.

Regardless, I kinda feel like the Tin Man in the mornings, in need of a little extra oil in my joints until I get moving and warmed up.

Just another joy of getting older.

What is a true joy thought is painting snowmen and snowflakes. These projects are great because they work for either gift-giving or decorations that last beyond the holiday season.

To start with I have some patterns and printables for you. Of course, basic snowmen are just circles but my Inner Child still loves playing dress up so there are some hats and jackets and stuff.

Snowman Oven Mitts

I used round foam pouncers on these oven mitts. So fast that way!

Snowman Tealight Shades

Round pouncers were used for this project too which is simply painted on watercolor paper, wrapped into a “shade” and placed atop a wine glass with a tea light inside. So fun!

Snowman Magnetic Paperdolls

This is honestly one of my all-time favorite projects. Ever. I mean, who wouldn’t love dressing up magnetic snow people with cute felt jackets?

Um, ok . . . maybe there are some people.

They just don’t know what they’re missing.

If you have a little one around, trust me, these magnetic paperdolls are SO worth the effort.

Snowflake Painting

You’ll love this painting these snowflakes because they’re just stenciled! A couple of simple trees in the background and little dip-dot snow falling and you’ll have a pretty painting in an afternoon!

A few years ago I rarely, if ever, used stencils. Now I’ve seen the error of my ways and I absolutely love creating projects with them. It’s so easy to dress up nearly anything with a little stenciling, like these wine glasses. Simple, but oh-so pretty.
