Fourth of July Party

I’m having a party! And you’re all invited. It’s my first linky party so I really hope to have a good turnout.
July 4th is only three weeks away – uh, Hello! Are you ready? - let’s share our crafts, decor, recipes, celebrations, traditions for the next 3 Thursdays.

I’ve had so much fun linking my posts to parties this past year, I decided to start hosting some parties of my own.
If I’ve set up the Linky thingie right, you can link your post on Wednesday nights @ 9 p.m. pst.
So when I decided to start hosting parties – this is only the first of more to come – I knew I had to make a button. Now, I wish I was digiscrap-savvy, or had a graphics program. But no. I paint.
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and dabbed some light sky blue on it.

Just a simple star, heart & fireworks.

Fill in the red. I used Tomato Spice by Ceramcoat.

Then Cadet Blue by Ceramcoat.

Lastly I outlined everything with a fine tip Sharpie & drew some fireworks in red & blue. Quick & dirty – my fav kind of project.
Now I can scan this, print it onto iron on decals for fabrics, or vellum for candles, or even magnets to stick on outdoor metal stuff. Cool, huh?
Can’t wait to celebrate our great country’s birthday with everyone!

  1. Great idea Colleen! I love the artwork! Last year we started a new tradition for 4th of July. We held a chili cook-off for all of our friends. It was fabulous. We're looking forward to even more entries this year! Can't wait to see and hear what other people do to make merry on the 4th.
