Friday Feature – Floorcloths

Daily Inspiration
In Feng Shui, the floors in your home are Earth energy. They represent support and grounding. If you want to feel more centered, put some attention on your floors. Do they need a thorough cleaning? Or just some decluttering?
As Summer winds down, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. Floorcloths are great for outdoor ‘rooms’. They’re also great indoors too. A floorcloth adds a spot of color to any space.

I made this strawberry floorcloth out of an old linoleum remnant. To see how to make this, go here.

Or, how about some cherries? Lowes.com has a free pattern and wonderful tutorial for this painted floorcloth on linoleum.

You can also use canvas for a floorcloth. Michelle @ SweetSomethingDesigns made this great chevron floorcloth. It’s obvious her doggie approves!

You can’t go wrong with simple stripes, though. Check out what Julie @ BlueCricketDesigns did with a canvas dropcloth and craft paint. Too cute!
Canvas or linoleum, floorcloths are great paint projects to ‘finish’ a space off. How about a cute fall motif? Maybe for your kitchen? I think I have another piece of linoleum somewhere around here . . .
