Countdown to Christmas!!

Yep, I said it. Of course, if you have your Fall decorations up, you know Christmas is close behind!

Every year I tell myself I’m going to make my own presents. Every year.

And every year I maybe manage to squeeze one or two out.

If I’d just make one each month, I’d have them ready by December. But I don’t. Oh well.

Then I came across this fantastic post by Craftynest. She’s listed 137 inexpensive, handmade gifts – with instructions!

How about a set of tile coasters? I’d say paint them, of course, but you could also decoupage them.

Or maybe turn some wine bottles into olive oil bottles.

Just think how fun this project would be. I mean, you have to empty the bottle first, right?

Anyone would love this painted pot. Any anyone can make it! The bottom is stenciled and she used chalkboard paint on the rim! Perfect with a holiday plant in it – or maybe some gardening tools.

That’s just three out of 137! (‘course I picked out the paint projects.)

The list is incredible. Food gifts, holiday decorations, service gifts – you name it! Just reading thru it has put me in the holiday spirit.

What about you? Do you make presents? Are you one of ‘those’ people who has all their presents wrapped by December 10? Or are you like me, out in the stores on Christmas Eve?

Whichever, it’s coming. Soon. And this year I’m going to be on top of things. I am, I am, I am!!!

  1. ohhh, how I wish I could paint! :( As far as Christmas goes this year, it's going to be very slim. I plan to build my daughter a couple of pieces, other than that, I have NO idea what I'm going to do. I'm off to look at those 137 things now.

ps A local car wash counts down the days. When I went by today, I couldn't believe they had already started. It's hardly even fall here. It's been 97-100 degrees here this week. hard to think about Christmas!
