Before we get started, I posted a 5 step plan on Feng Shui Savvy today.
Just a little kick-start to get you going.
I love pears. In decorating.
I’m not big on eating them.
But I love the look of them.
Weird, I know. But they’re fun to paint.
You could use this for fall, Thanksgiving, or everyday, actually.
You’ll need four colors of paint.
Did you get some Floating Medium yet?
I’m tellin’ ya, I use the stuff every single day. It’ll make your painting so much better.
Transfer the pattern.
Basecoat the pears and the leaves with light yellow. Yes, the leaves, too!
Mix Floating Medium with dark yellow and paint it over the pears.
Start from the outside and work your way in.
Finished with dark yellow. Darker around the edges of the pears, see?
Basecoat leaves with yellow green. One coat will be pretty light because you’re putting it over the light yellow basecoat.
With dark brown, add leaf and pear stems.
You can stop here or add some wording.
I painted this for Thanksgiving. I’m going to print it on to iron-on transfer paper and make a table runner.
I wish I’d made some without the wording, too. I could use them for Christmas.
Well . . . I could always try and figure out Photoshop, I guess.
Good Morning, and Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I just had to check you out since I'm always impressed by painters. Your tutorial is great, and inspiring enough that I might just try to paint. I love the pears! BTW, I only like one species of pear (for eating), I'm not that into eating pears either, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat tut as always Colleen. I love pears...but only when they are at the smushy stage..LOL!!
