What a trip this was – reviewing all my blog posts for 2010. I highly recommend it.
It was much more fun reviewing my 2010 blog posts than my daily journal (where I let everything spill!).
I’ll just keep those little tidbits to myself, thank you very much.
It was really fun looking back thru the year and seeing which projects got the most comments & visits. These are your picks, not necessarily mine.
It’s kinda weird, but once I paint something, I rarely spend any time looking at it. The joy for me is truly in the journey – the actual painting process.
Well, that and the paycheck when I’m done painting.
Each pic has a link back to the original post if you want to see more about the painting.
Disney-inspired murals were by far the most popular. Surprise, surprise.
I painted Princess and the Frog for my niece that has every known Tatiana product known to man. . . including a hand painted closet door.
Some other little girls wanted horses for their wall. Loved painting this. They picked their fav horse and I painted it – being careful not to spill paint on the girls’ heads. (They stood right beside me most of the time, ‘helping’ me paint.)
Iridessa-inspired wall hanging. With glittered wings and rhinestone sparkles.
In case you didn’t know, my husband’s side of the family are African-American.
Hey, I didn’t know Disney had black princesses & fairies. My household is full of testosterone-wielding males. Even the dog is male. If any girls in the family want a painting, I’m thrilled to oblige!
One of the best parts about painting murals is learning about the subject matter. I had never heard of the Tuskegee Airmen before I painted this. The story of the first black pilots and their courage in WWII is incredible and awe-inspiring.
I’m still adding to my series of sweet Blackberry Angels. I paint these just for my own enjoyment – no commission involved.
I think it goes back to when my 3 sons were small and I couldn’t find any black things for their rooms – except athletes and hiphop.
To date, this little angel gets the most hits on my main website every single day.
My Closet Door Murals were a big hit with readers. I’d love to take the credit for the idea, but it was actually BBH’s.
Thank you, Honey!
And thanks to all of you, dear readers! It’s so much fun sharing my work with you.
Happy New Year’s Eve eve! Tomorrow I’ll post your top pics of Painting Projects.
