Do you remember when I wrote here my concerns I had about being on TV? Guess what? None of them mattered. At all.
I had absolutely no idea what to expect, or what I was in for.
I headed out there, excited to be a part – a really small part, but still a part – of a decorating show on national TV. And totally unprepared for what I was walking into.
But first I had to find a place to park. No place on this side street.
Or this one.
I was so naive , I actually thought all of these trucks and cars were for some other project.
I was wrong. All of the drivers that drove all of those cars and work trucks were in 2 yards. Two small yards!
Ah-Ha! I finally found the street after a brisk walk for 3 blocks.
My mind started questioning my eagerness – and my sanity - for getting involved with this . . . whatever this was going to be.
The first yard (not ‘my’ house) was on the corner. I must be on the right street.
Then I saw these guys across the street and knew I was in the right place.
This was what I walked into. It’s the front ‘yard’. There’s a garage behind the gal in the red jacket, another garage behind the sound guy on the left.
The long wood thing from the 2nd story? Oh, I’ll get to that later.
First, let me show you around the ‘set’. Or how it looked when I got there.
To get to the front ‘yard’, you had to walk past a big green ‘cherry picker’ in the driveway.
On the other side of the driveway were stacks and stacks of white styrofoam. And Christmas trees. And wood beams. And . . . and . . .
Even more people and stuff and projects in the backyard. I didn’t even look back there the first day. I was too afraid to peek.
I needed to get busy and paint . . . something. I wasn’t sure what. I had to find Theresa, the lead designer, and find out what I was actually supposed to paint.
You just get used to groups of people working. Even groups of TV-type people working. Just like it’s something I see every day, lol!
Once I found out what I was going to paint, I needed one more thing. Something essential for every project . . .
. . . ah, yes, Porta-Potties! Now I can get down to work!
Tomorrow I’ll show you the first project I painted!
