Behind The Scenes – Part 2

I’ll warn you ahead of time – I can’t show you any finished photos of the projects. This is all ‘in-progress’ stuff. But I thought you’d still enjoy seeing just a small portion of all the work that goes into a national TV show.

My first project was to paint part of a huge canvas to cover one of the garage doors. Simple, right?

Hmm, not so simple when you have to match someone else’s work. That was hanging in a weird way. So I couldn’t get a good perspective on it.

That’s my disclaimer, and I’m sticking to it!

Here’s the wreath I was supposed to match. No problem, or so I thought.

I chalked out a rough circle and a bow and stood back. Or as far back as I could get.

This is what the garage looked like at any given moment. Only there was a few tables, tools, and merchandise too. Can’t see all that, can you? No, because there were so many people, all with their own projects going, all in a hurry.

Remember – we were on an incredibly tight deadline. So everyone was rushing everywhere.

I managed to get this painted pretty quickly.

There were just a few obstacles in the way.

A cord here and there to trip over.

My wreath wound up a little bigger than the other one. But, amazingly, Theresa had no worries.

The next day I found out why. The gal in the pink sweatshirt, Sheri Hoeger, is a fabulous artist and put her wonderful finishing touches on the mural. Oh yeah, she just happens to have a stencil company too!

Forget about meeting the TV people. Meeting Sheri was one of the top highlights for me!

Tomorrow I’ll show you what can be done with blocks of styrofoam. I’ll say this . . . I was amazed! I think you will be too!
