As much as I love teaching others to paint and creating PIY (paint it yourself) kits, I also know that some people just won’t paint. It’s just not for them, or they truly believe they can’t do it. (Wrong! But I won’t argue the point here.)
There’s one room in the house where most people want something custom and hand-painted – the baby’s room. And, even though there are cute art reproductions out there, most of them are pretty pricey.
Not as much as an original, I’ll agree, but they’re still an investment.
So I came up with a good solution. At least, I think it’s good.
A Nursery Mural Registry! You can have friends and family contribute to a custom mural that you help design. I can handle as little or as much as you want – from emailing an invitation to your guest list, to providing you with wording to do it yourself.
Cool, huh?
All of these pictures are linked to my website, if you want to see more Baby paintings.
You can have any colors, any style, any theme. Any size!
Maybe you want your baby girl’s name on a canvas.
Or your baby boy’s.
Do you have toile bedding? No problem!
Of course, animals are always a favorite.
Especially jungle animals!
But bunnies are always cute, too!
And I can always match your painting to your bedding – like these dragonflies on a wall that coordinated with Glennajean’s Scribbles bedding.
Okay, are you wondering how I’d paint a mural if you live on the east coast or in the South?
Here’s how it works. You have 3 options for a custom ‘mural’.
- Stretched canvas
- Wall Hanging
- Mural on Canvas
The stretched canvas doesn’t require any framing because I paint all the edges. It’s ready to hang, out of the box.
Wall hangings have rod pockets at the top so you can hang them with a decorative rod or dowel.
Murals on Canvas are painted on a lighter weight fabric and can be applied directly to your wall with wallpaper paste. Or removable paste, so you can take it down when baby has outgrown the room.
Here’s something else to think about – all 3 options allow you to keep the artwork (unlike a painting directly on the wall). It makes a wonderful heirloom keepsake for years to come.
If you’ve been thinking that handpainted custom artwork is too expensive, check out the Nursery Mural Registry. It works for big brothers & sisters, too!
Ok. That’s it. That’s the first shameless plug for 2011. If any of your readers are mommies or soon-to-be mommies, I’d love any shout-outs you can give! I’m open to GiveAways & bartering for ads, too.
