In anticipation of refinishing furniture in my soon-to-be new/old shop, I’ve been looking at all kinds of paint finishes. One of my favorite finishes is crackle.
Shannon @ Quarry Orchard gave some great tips for crackling.
I’d much rather read bloggers’ tips than a manufacturer because they’ll tell you their experience – what works and what doesn’t.
Look at this fabulous entertainment center she painted/crackled. Yeah, I’ll listen to someone who can pull this off!
I’m not sure what brand of crackle medium she used, but I’ve heard you can also use glue.
I’ll admit this scares me a bit. Glue + paint? Sounds like a recipe for a messy disaster, to me.
Leave it to Brittany @ Pretty Handy Girl to prove me wrong. But then, she truly is a ‘handy girl’ too!
Brittany really used Elmer’s Glue on this cute little bucket.
After reading her post, I admit, I think I’m ready to give it a whirl.
What about you? What’s your favorite crackle medium? Have you had any problems?
