How To Paint a Tree Mural

Vintage Revivals

I’m a firm believer that sometimes we need to hear a different ‘voice’ when we’re trying to learn something. Do you know what I mean?

It’s not necessarily just the content. It’s also the delivery.

The first dance teacher I had was only 21 years old. I was an ancient 25. She demonstrated the same dance moves as every other jazz teacher. But she was 21. She thought we could all move as fast as she could move, kick as high as she could kick, and do the splits. The splits?!? I was nearly decrepit, or so I thought. I quit after 2 classes. Then a few months later I started again with another teacher who, like me, started dancing in her 20’s. Same moves, different delivery. And so started my career in dance.

I tell you this because although I think it’s easy to paint trees on walls, some of you (most of you?) may not fully believe me. Or maybe it’s just my delivery.

So I found another voice – Mandi of Vintage Revivals. The ‘Mandi’ who happened to be on The Nate Berkus Show today. Yeah. I know! How fabulous is that. If I’d known, I’d have posted this yesterday so you could’ve watched the show instead of just looking at her house pictures on his website.

Sorry ‘bout that.

But to make up for missing her appearance, here’s her tutorial for painting trees on walls. It’s pretty awesome too, imho. Check out how she ‘decorates’ one of the trees for holidays.

Awesome.
