Have You Ever Had a CraftFail?

banner

Do all of your craft projects turn out just right? How about baking? I’m not going to even talk about cooking!

For years I’ve loved trying new crafts. I’d rip ideas out of magazines, head to the craft store and see how close I could come to the glossy inspiration photo. Things got a little better when I discovered blogs. You can actually ask questions of a real person!

Then along came Pinterest – magazines, cookbooks and blogs all rolled up into rows and rows of pictorial eye candy.

Who could refuse trying some of the cute crafts or those delish-looking desserts, right?

But sometimes, no matter how closely I follow directions, sometimes what I’m looking at in front of me doesn’t look like those cute inspiration photos.

My ‘embossed’ velvet bag? Not even close.

My ‘frosted’ branches weren’t quite so frosty.

But I posted them here anyway. Partly because people always assume that because I can paint, I must surely be able to craft. Wrong. And partly because I most likely spent loads of time on the project and Daggonnit I’m gonna post it!

Well, guess what! There’s an awesome site that where you can submit your craftfails, foodfails or Pinterest-fails.

CraftFailwhere crafters go to fail

Come on! Isn’t it more fun to share our fails and have a good laugh about it rather than throwing it across the room in frustration? (Not that I’d actually do anything like that. I’m just using my imagination here. Winking smile)

Guess what else? Heather, the awesome creator of CraftFail, DollarStoreCrafts, DecorHacks, Crafter Minds and I can’t even remember all the rest, asked me to help out with some CraftFail posts.

Me and CraftFail. I’ve finally found my niche.

Drop by and say hi, ok? And the next time you feel like throwing a not-so-perfect project across the room, stop and take a pic first, and join us at CraftFail!
