I haven’t been to a bridal shower in a while. Ok, longer than a ‘while’. Try years. And years. I think my last bridal shower was for my bff and her sons have now both graduated from college. And have post-graduate degrees.
I was particularly excited to go to this bridal shower because it was for my niece-to-be. The one I painted the Louboutin shoe painting for.
I absolutely adore her.
She’s on the left standing next to her beautiful, and fun, cousin who was also my brunch partner.
I forgot my totally-awesome-point-n-shoot camera that day so I used my I-don’t-know-how-to-work-an-Android-phone camera. On a good day my pics aren’t fabulous so with a phone camera they’re even more questionable.
Questionable? Ha! After taking pics of Absolutely.Every.Decoration I think the other shower guests were wondering just who in the heck the nut with the phone camera was and why was she taking pics of tables and candles instead of people.
“Me? Oh, I’m a blogger,” did very little to answer their bemused expressions. [go figure] Until I met the awesomesauce hosts. You’re a blogger? How cool!
Good thing my jacket covered the tee shirt.
Wanna see all of the gorg tiffany blue & damask decorations?
The round guest tables were draped in the perfect shade of aqua blue. The burgundy carnation topiaries tied in with some of the restaurant’s accents, like the rich drapes in the background.
When I saw the black damask table numbers, I nearly squealed and whipped my painting out of it’s wrappings. But I resisted and just marveled at the oversize gemstone holder and clever displays of miniature black frames of Audrey Hepburn. Anyone remember Breakfast at Tiffany’s?
Placecards with a solitaire rhinestone.
Sweet favor gifts were tucked into damask boxes wrapped in black satin ribbon that could’ve been the gift themselves!
Plain white napkins added to the table ‘bling’ with these oversized solitaire ‘diamond’ rings.
As did these sparkly ‘crown’ jeweled votives.
Did I mention the restaurant sits on the marina at Point Richmond? What a fabulous view of the San Francisco Bay.
But this is the view that brought a lump to my throat. Seeing my little nephew (he’ll always be 6 years old in my mind) cuddling his soulmate in this portrait stopped me dead in my tracks. What a romantic display!
Topped off with a hanging ‘chandelier’.
From the black satin bows to the damask and varied backgrounds on the banner, sweet romantic touches were evident in all the decorations.
Including damask-wrapped candles with a band of ribbon and pearls.
At one end of the room sat three more tables. One for gifts . . .
one for a delish chocolate fountain . . .
and then this! *cue angels singing* If I didn’t have such a sweet tooth, the eye candy alone would’ve knocked me out. Look at the display – clean white platters at varying levels with each delectable treat calling my name Hello.
Just for you I sampled each sweet. Just for you! From left to right – handmade chocolates filled with sumptuous gooey caramel with a touch of fennel. Yes, fennel! Above the chocolates – cake pops. *more angels singing* A ginger gar filled with foil-wrapped chocolate hearts. Iced cookies in the back. In the front, carrot cake mini cupcakes and mini iced donuts.
Since I ‘sampled’ each treat, it was truly difficult to choose a favorite. The mini donuts were so wonderful I had to try two of ‘em, heehee. I found out later they were Krispy Kremes. Yep. I filed that in the back of my mind for any future party. The chocolates? Todiefor good. But my absolute, can-I-have-another-one fav were the cake pops. After reading all the fuss about cake pops I finally got to devour taste one.
I just might have to locate my cake pans in that room I walk thru to get to the garage. Some people call it a kitchen.
The other side of the table displayed the same tiered treats with glass pedestals full of M&Ms, taffy, and other candies – all in the Tiffany blue theme.
And what’s a Tiffany theme without a Tiffany box, right?
There were two ‘boxes,’ both covered in the perfect shade of fondant.
This smaller one had the roman numerals “XIX” (19) which is a significant number for the bride and groom.
awwww.
But the ‘piece de resistance’ was this incredible replica of a Tiffany box perched above all of the other sweets with a string of ‘pearls’ spilling out. Simply.Amazing.
When we had all eaten our fill sampled the sweets, we were invited back to fill the cellophane baggies with some Tiffany blue candies.
“Sweet” idea!
It was a wonderful day with wonderful people and fabulous food and sweets. The decorations were incredible, with so much thought and care put into every detail. Just perfect.
For a perfect bride-to-be.
Uh, no, I’m not sharing pics of all the gifts she received. Let’s just say it was a lingerie shower, ok?
Oh, except for the ‘crazy aunt’ who painted some shoes on a canvas.
But I do believe she liked it.
