Decorating With Paint – Always In Wonder

It’s no secret that there’s a wealth of talent and creativity in Blogland. It still amazes me that with a click of a mouse I can easily be transported into a DIYer dreamland.

Frankly, I’ve been remiss in not featuring some of these incredible DIYers. I’m gonna remedy that by regularly showcasing bloggers who decorate with paint.

I’m gonna start this series off with someone special, a BBF of mine (Best Blogging Friend), Jennifer at Always in Wonder. This gal literally has talent oozing out of her fingers. Okay, maybe not literally. Let’s just say she’s gifted. That picture up above that looks like it’s from a magazine? That’s a stenciled wall in Jen’s dining room. Gorgeous, isn’t it?

Check out her bedroom. I especially love how she stenciled just above her upholstered headboard to create a focal element. The stencil? She cut it herself. Oh, and the upholstered headboard? It’s a simple core door that she upholstered herself.

Don’t creative people like this drive you nuts? Or is it just me?

For this darling birdcage on burlap she cut a stencil out of contact paper, mod podged a birdie on top and then put it in a frame that she refinished, natch.

Have you ever thought about painting stripes on a wall? Before you try it, read Jen’s tutorial. It’s called “Paint Horizontal Stripes the Easy Way.” ‘nuff said. Stripes? Easy? The girl’s got skills.

But wait, my friends. I’ve saved the best for last.

Take a look at the photo below and guess, just guess, what Jennifer did . . .

. . . other than use a whole lotta painter’s tape. And maybe lose her mind once. Or twice.

But was it worth it?

Good gracious, yes, yes, YES!!!

Is this wall sensational or what?!? I’ve seen a lot of awesomeness since I’ve been blogging but this herringbone wall is truly one of the best wall treatments I’ve ever seen.

If a client had ever said to me, “I want you to paint my wall and I want it to be a herringbone design”, I would’ve run out the front door. After they picked me up off the floor.

Now I know all I’d have to do is call Jen! I mean, she only lives, like, 5 or 6 hours away.

Wasn’t this a fabulous premiere for Decorating With Paint? I know! And, as much as I love when you leave me comments, I’d really, really love it if you’d drop by Always In Wonder and say hi to Jen.
