How To Paint Furniture – Bloggers’ Resources

the-everygirl-feature

A lot of people refinish and paint furniture. A lot of people enjoy refinishing and painting furniture.

I don’t happen to be one of them, however. In fact, I seem to have a few ‘issues’ about painting furniture. That doesn’t mean I can’t recommend some excellent bloggers who paint furniture. As a matter of fact, it almost makes me an expert in recommending bloggers who paint furniture.

Almost.

Here’s the thing, since I write about painting, like, almost every day I don’t want to let my ‘issues’ stop me from writing about bloggers who paint furniture. Okay?

And there are a lot of awesome ones. But when I think ‘blogger’ and ‘painting furniture’ these five gals immediately spring to mind.

Especially Kate @ Centsational Girl. Oh, don’t get me wrong, she’s fabulous in a whole lot of things – sense of style, photography, wordsmithing . . . ok, I’ll stop.

Kate is also really, really good at painting furniture. And sharing her knowledge. In fact, she’s written a great guide, How To Paint Furniture that you can get over at TheEveryGirl.

One more thing about Kate. When I was knee-deep in the middle of a painting-furniture-meltdown, I emailed her for advice, never dreaming she’d actually respond, or in time to save what was left of my sanity. But she did, and in time. Ok, the last part is subject to debate. But I was still ecstatic that she emailed me quickly and even more so with her advice.

Another go-to-gal for painting furniture is the marvelous Miss Mustard Seed. Her blog is well worth reading any day but on Fridays she hosts a fabulous furniture-only link party. Talk about inspiration! And when you drop by for a visit, scroll down a bit on her sidebar and you’ll find some wonderful series she’s posted thru the years.

Btw, Miss Mustard Seed has just written a book too. It’s not out yet, but I just bet it’ll have loads of furniture painting tips and ideas.

You don’t have to wait for this ebook by Shaunna at Imperfectly Perfect. While she writes about many subjects, she focused her talents on furniture in this wonderful book.

More than worth the $11.99, believe me.

And while we’re on the subject of books, there’s one that’s proved the test of time . . . and numerous bloggers.

Last, but definitely not least, is Cassie with Primitive & Proper. As sweet as she is stylish, Cassie has a gift for painting furniture, and is gracious enough to share her tips on her blog.

She also has a furniture-only link party on Wednesdays which I highly recommend for ideas and inspiration.

Geez, after hanging out on these awesome blogs for a while, I just might have to face my ‘issues’ and drag out my sander and primer. If you hear some hollerin’ tomorrow, no worries, ok?

Who’d I miss? Which blogs are your favorite for painting furniture? What about painting other things?
