Mother’s Day Ideas – Flower Pots

Family Education

On the off chance you’re like me and haven’t done a thing for Mother’s Day yet, here are some fun, easy and inexpensive ideas for Mom, Grandma, Daughter or Sister.

There are a few reasons I love flower pots. To start with, they’re cheap, even if you buy them new. You can nab some from the thrift store too and if they’re already painted, just hit them with some spray primer and decorate however you like.

You don’t have to use them just for plants and flowers either. I like decorated pots for storage, pens, scissors, you name it. Of course, for Mother’s Day a flowering plant is a sweet touch.

Or, how about a birdbath?

Patricia at Flower Pot Crafts has a fabulous tutorial for making a darling birdbath.

You don’t even need a paintbrush to paint pots either. If you haven’t seen Elmer’s Painters yet, you soon will. I’m seeing projects pop up all over blogland and, so far, everyone loves them. (which means I’ll have to go buy some and play with them myself.)

After seeing these darling pots at The Country Chic Cottage, I think I’ll have to let Grandson play with them first though.

Of course, I could always just slip the Painters to the hubs so he and Grandson could paint a pot for Gramma. (It’s never too soon to ‘train’ them, is it?)
