Lovely Lettering Projects

Daily Inspiration

Allow yourself to dream, imagine, envision. Our mind is full of thoughts. Choose thoughts that feel good.

As a child I had nice handwriting and could make beautiful posters. At 19, I made flyers for my flower shop using paste-up letters. Then in the ‘80’s I used desktop publishing on a Mac. I didn’t realize until just now how aspects of my work has revolved around lettering.

Now there are the wonderful Cricut or Silhouette machines, making lettered projects is a snap. But if you don’t have one, you can still create wonderful art.

I love sharing this project from Kim @ Today’sCreativeBlog because she thinks she isn’t talented in the paint dept. But look at this cute teacher’s present! She used foam stamps for the lettering. (I love the background foam plates – looks just like my worktable!)

Have you seen all the cool subway art around Blogland? Jen @ tatertots&jello made this for Valentine’s Day, but it’d be cute year ‘round. How did she do it? Computer, printer, scissors & Modpodge! Cool, huh? She takes you thru the process step by step and even has the lettering in PDF.

Chrissy @ Home.Kids.Life used a reverse stencil to create her initial art. But here’s the twist – she used a full sheet label. I am loving this. If you’ve ever had problems with paint bleeding thru stencils, a label would certainly help.

Labels, stamps, stencils, Modpodge – lots of ways to create hand lettered artwork without a diecutter!

Have you done any lettering? What technique do you use?
