When it comes to DIY projects, I don’t think there’s anything faster, and easer, than spray paint. And, boy, has spray paint come a long, long way. Not only is there a wide range of colors available, but now Krylon has all kinds of specialty spray paints for different surfaces.
Last week I partnered with Krylon to try their new Dual Paint + Primer and made a watermelon floorcloth out of a scrap of linoleum. I loved it! The colors were beautiful. The coverage was excellent. Not to mention I got to skip an entire step because the primer is built in. Oh, and one more thing – it has a rotating nozzle which would come in handy if you’re painting tight spots.
Another fabulous paint Krylon has is Looking Glass paint. Sure, you can use it to make any surface extremely shiny – mirror-like – but it can also be used to turn plain glass in to mercury glass. What a great project!
One of the hardest surfaces to paint has always been plastic. No paint would ever completely adhere. Then a few years ago, Krylon came out with Fusion.
Do these chairs look familiar? I always bought white ones. No matter what I use, they never get completely clean each season. So then I bought the green chairs. Still yucky.
It’s just easier to use Fusion. And the colors are better too.
Another spray paint project idea is a floor mat. I found this @ Krylon’s Transform Your Home Today site. It’s full of ideas and instructions, which actually inspired this post.
