Day 16 – Halloween Crafts for Kids

AllFreeCrafts

Kids. Halloween. Crafts. Nothing could be more natural. Right?

Unless you’re a 34 y.o. career woman without kids. That was me a few years ago. Ok, 20 years ago – but who’s counting?

Here’s the deal – I had never been around kids. I meet the man-of-my-dreams. He has 3 sons. I couldn’t have kids of my own. Perfect fit!

Having never been a parent, I assumed ‘parenting’ meant crafting around the table, laughter, love, and all the other warm fuzzies I saw on the Hallmark commercials.

And we actually did do some crafting, me and the 7, 10 & 12 year old boys. Once. One time.

Then reality hit. And when I say ‘hit’ I mean it slapped me upside my head. Quite a few times.

But that was 20 years ago. We made it through – all of us. They didn’t slip antifreeze in my Pepsi and not one of them have any visible scars from me.

Now that I’m a gramma I try and craft with Grandson at least once a week. I’ve almost gotten past the point where I cover him and every surface in sight with dropcloths and garbage bags. Almost.

I’ll admit, I haven’t come up with my own creative crafts for kids. Yet. But there are great online sites loaded with crafts. My two favorites – so far – are AllFreeCrafts and Crafts by Amanda.

What’s your favorite Halloween craft to make with your kids? Leave a comment and let me know. Please! I’m spending all day with him today!
