It’s a Virtual Halloween Party!

ghosts and ghouls_date_800

Are you hosting a Halloween party this year? If you are, you’ve come to the right place today! My friends and I have teamed up to bring you a “virtual” Halloween Party today.

If you’re not having an actual party, I just bet you’ll find some fun ideas anyway.

First I’ll show you my project – transform a plain wine glass into a Jack o’ Lantern Tealight! All you need is the goblet, two colors of glass paint and some washi tape. That’s it!

After you wash your glass, clean it with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils from handling it.

Apply the first layer of Americana Gloss Enamel in orange to the bowl of the glass.

It’ll be very, very light. Don’t panic. This paint is translucent – meaning light shines through it.

If you don’t want a sheer look to your jack o’ lantern, you could use a multi surface opaque acrylic too.

When the bowl has dried, paint the stem and base green.

Your paint strokes will be obvious for the first couple of layers. After two or three, they’ll blend together nicely as the color deepens.

That’s it for the painting! Orange for the bowl, green for the stem and base.

Next make your jack o’ lantern face with washi tape.

If you don’t have any washi, a black permanent marker would work great too.

Finally, wrap a little tape around a tealight and you have an adorable decoration for your Halloween table!

While you’re at it, you might as well make two or three of them. It will hardly take much longer and you won’t need any more supplies, other than the wine glasses from the dollar store.

Just a thought. Winking smile

Of course, you know I’ve made a lot more Halloween decorations this year, right?
